Interview

Today I had the opportunity to interview my classmate Celia during class. from the start she had a very welcoming energy. she was engaged in the interview so it made it easier for me to communicate with her. At first me and her both didn’t know what to ask so we went on the internet and asked a couple questions. I wanted some questions to get to know my partner better.

Q: What are your strengths? What is your most useful skill?

A: I am courageous, outgoing, determined to make a name for myself. I am also a college student thriving to make my family happy and to live my life to the fullest. One of my most useful skills that I use in my everyday life is my interpersonal skill, meaning me being able to understand and empathize. Another skill that plays a big role in my everyday life is actively listening because I listen to people to understand their perspectives on things and it helps build long lasting relationships with people.

Q: What has been your biggest challenge? How did I overcome it? What was the hardest part?

A: My biggest challenge at the moment is battling my own dark thoughts because in this stage of my life I tend to self sabotage most of my work making me realize that you are your own biggest critic for real. I overcame this by thinking about more positive outcomes. The hardest part for me to move on from this was learning how to let go of my bad ways. The relationship you have with yourself is the most complicated because you can’t walk away from yourself and you have to forgive yourself for your own mistakes in order to accept and love yourself.

Q: What are your goals? How persistent are you with your goals? Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

A: One of my biggest goals is to make my mom proud because she risked everything for me to be able to be here today. She motivates everyday to do my best at everything and to never give up on something I have my heart set on. Everyday I think of how much it would mean to my mom to see me accomplish my dreams. In 5 years I see myself owning my own place and having a good salary job and maybe a small dog.

Q: What is your favorite extracurricular activity?  Describe yourself with three adjectives ?

A: One of my favorite extracurricular activities is listening to music because it puts me in a very calm state of mind and helps me focus on my school work. Describe myself in 3 adjectives generous, adventurous, and adaptable.

Q: How do you deal with pressure?

A: I take pressure very lightly because I consider myself a very calm person. I think about the situation thoroughly and the consequences of my actions.

Q: Who is your role model?

A: I personally don’t have a role model. I’m my own role model.

Q: How do you define success?

A: I define success as having all I need to survive as long as I can provide for myself and my loved ones.

Q: What makes you unique?

A: Being myself.

In conclusion, I got to know my partner pretty well and their perspective on their personal life. I would’ve never seen her the way I see her now. This exercise was really helpful. I will definitely be doing this in the future. I related to so many things in this interview that
